Now that you have began quilting, you’ll want to get the right quilting materials to have all your projects look perfect. There are a bunch of places to get the fabric you want, and you will not have to spend a lot to form your personal bed quilts. These are some of the best shops to look for fabric, as well as internet links which will help you to become improved at your new hobby.
1st, you’ll have to know the easy way to choose the quilting fabrics that you want. Make sure that the fabric is colorfast, so the color won’t run when you put the quilt in the wash. If you’re not really sure if the fabric is color safe, you should wash it first before you start to sew with it; be certain to put it in the washing machine on its own, so that if it does streak, it will not wreck the remainder of your clothing. It’s also a good idea to make sure that quilting fabrics have a weave that’s tight enough, so that your quilt will last for a long while.
If the fabric isn’t threaded firmly enough, it’s going to be easier for your quilt to tear or rip. Even though you may wish to try new fabrics for your log cabin quilts every once in a while, you will not be in a position to go inaccurate if you use one hundred percent cotton; if you are a newb when it pertains to choosing quilting fabrics, it’s best to stay with cotton until you are far more familiar with the quilting process.
If you are using quilting fabrics that do not have a pattern, it is important to make certain that you slice your pieces the same so that when you put the parts of your quilt together, it will fit in the correct way. The mounting material is also significant when it comes to quilting fabrics. After you have all of the material cut out correctly, you will need to make sure that the backing material is round the same weight and color as the apex of the quilt so that you can sew through the entire quilt uniformly without any bumps or rips.
You will buy quilting fabrics at your city craft or fabric shop, so be sure to check stores like Pastime Lobby, Anna’s Linens, and Michael’s to get the material you want at a nice price. You may even be capable of finding the materials you want to make your new quilt at stores like Wal-Mart. Crib quilts are going to be available at the store also so you will find new design ideas while you’re buying fabric. Do not forget to pay special attention to patterns for more design inspiration, and check out sites like www.amazon.com and www.shopping.com for discounts on fabric that you will not need to pass up.

Easter will be here before you know it, so once again the time has arrived to begin making the Easter crafts I create every year. Each Easter season allows me to once again be creative. It also means finding new Easter craft ideas. But that’s not a bad thing, so I look forward to it. I know that I can find everything I need pretty quickly.
Usually I my process is to look for vintage Easter clip art that can be used as the basis for the craft. Since this is an Easter craft project, I will want to search for Easter bunny or baby chick images. That shouldn’t be a problem, because Easter images are everywhere at this time of year.
I’ve also found in the past that free vintage Easter greeting cards that can be accessed all over the Internet can make designing an Easter craft project easier. Given that the cards already feature fantastic Easter themes, it won’t take much to create a tremendous craft project.
Another super idea for creating Easter crafts is to use scrapbooking supplies. These include scrapbook embellishments, paper photo frames, borders and many other fun elements. As an example, 3D stickers can go a long way toward making your project literally stand out. Additionally, printed scrapbook papers –whether digital or bought in a store — will add a spark of color to your Easter project. These components are used by professional card designers, so it’s proven that their use produces good results.
So as you plan to make Easter crafts this Easter, remember to use the ‘Net. Keep things basic and let the art you choose shine through. That will give you a visual advantage from the start and will make the creation process go easier and faster. Oohs and aahs from family and friends will probably be the result. And if crafts sales are what you’re after, you will have an advantage over your competitors.

In contrast with other traditional forms of knitting, spool knitting relies on the use of a spool and four nails for the creation of an initial fabric pattern. Owing to the very basic structure of the items it requires, spool knitting remains part of educational practices specific to crafts classes. Thus, this way of getting children to learn knitting is both instructive and fun. The spool can be either improvised or bought ready made, but the other supplies necessary include a crochet hook, yarn and in case you want to, you can also bring brads, a hammer, drill and a drill bit.
If you try to make the spool yourself, the process could get too complex and time consuming. Once you have everything ready just pass the yarn through the spool leaving out a few inches to hang from the bottom. It is a good idea that for this first stage of spool knitting you follow pictures or close face to face instructions so that you may begin in the right way. Next, it is time to use the crochet hook to make loops and pass them over the brads so as to create the cast on.
Depending on what you want to knit, you can use a more or less large number of brads; the most basic of projects available for spool knitting is cord making, and this can be designed with four, five or six brads. Yet, it is known that odd numbers are easier to work with in casting on, therefore, stick to the four or six variants particularly if you are a beginner. When knitting, the yarn has to be wrapped around all the brads and pull the loop out, up and over the brad in order to pass to the next line.
Spool knitting makes color variations possible since you need basic skills to perform such changes. All you need to do is to cut one yarn type and tie in a different one so that you may be able to continue the knitting process but with a different color. When learning spool knitting from books or web pages, it really helps to match the illustrations with the instructions and understand each step separately before moving to a different one. When you finish knitting you will have to tie off the ends so that they do not unravel. For those who need professional spool knitting, the use of a spool knitting machine is a lot more profitable in terms of speed and time saving properties.
